Nacky Noodle.

As well as the mop I am also currently in charge of two cats. This is Nacky Noodle. He pretty much rules the roost.

Where's Bin Laden?

Andrew and Ash presented me with an early birthday present today. It is a book in the vain of Where's Wally? but instead of finding a red and white dork, you have to find a mass murdering terrorist and many others...... It is still pretty damn fun.

Stella.

I am housesitting for the next couple of weeks. This is Stella. I think she looks like a mop so I call her mop. Believe it or not she does have eyes.

HOW CAN YOU SURVIVE THE END OF THE WORLD?

A lady dropped this flyer off for me the other day. Her knocking woke me up and when I got to the door, I imagine I didn't look like I wanted to talk. This is unfortunate because I would have liked to know how to survive the end of the world and the pamphlet only tells me to go to Rod Laver Arena on a certain day to learn the answers. I will not be going.

Wet Day in Sheffo.

The precipitation began to come down pretty hard, right about the time I had to get in the car to go somewhere. Hoorah.

A Raging Torrent.

A torrent of water rages up near the Coburg Lake. You could white water raft on this shit.

Doner.

In the category of, "How many of these could you possibly sell?" a plush toy representing kebab meat. And for the record the kebab from this shop was fucking rancid man.

19.19.

I stayed up until 435 to watch the Men's 200m Final at the World Athletics Championships. I am glad I did. Usain Bolt of Jamaica won the race in 19.19, breaking his own WR by .11 of a second. This is once in a life time shit people. He could hold the World Record in the 100m and 200m for a century.

KEEP OUT :) (Smiley Face.)

It seems counter intuitive to tell someone to KEEP OUT and then punctuate it with a smiley face. But in reality it does make you feel better about being told what to do.

The Supreme Court.

I visited the Supreme Court today. It was an interesting experience. They could probably afford to replace this Victorian flag.

PS. I went to see Robyn at work, not face charges.

Marxism2009.

I am quite fond of Marxism. Karl's ideas are all well and good, but I like myself more.

Fender.

When I was a boy I wanted a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar very badly. They were increasing in value thanks in part to Slash from Guns N' Roses, who I was a big fan of. I never did get one. Somewhere further down the track I bought a Fender acoustic, something I never would have done in my youth. Anyway. Les Paul died today. He was 94.

Grab a Beer.

As I mentioned last week, we were entered in the Beer O'vision Song Contest on SEN. Today we did not win. Here is a sample of Toff and Chipsy's lyrics. Only a privileged few have heard the fantastic end result.

Melita Social Club,

The Melita Social Club is at the Sydney Road end of Sheffield Street. Melita is a portmanteau of Melbourne and Italian, I guess. It is quite a rad colour. And when they decide to socialise, it is hard to get a park.

Canon IXUS IIs.

I borrowed this camera off Chantell and Sam while my LCD is not 100%. It does weird things. (See previous post.) And produces the noisiest pictures in the world. (See any number of previous posts.) Ah, technology progresses at an impressive rate.

This is a sure fire sign of a malfunctioning digital camera.

Only two weeks until Schumacher, M. returns to Formula One in a red car. Fingers crossed. I cannot wait.

SEN

The earlier mentioned beer songs were recorded for the Beer O'vision Song Contest held on 1116 SEN's radio show Beer O'Clock. I tuned in to see if we won. So far we have not.

My brother's girlfriend Ash recently got a whippet puppy. His name is Ben. He likes to chew on your buttons. He is bony and fast and cute.

Camel Bone Inlay.

Laura received a new chest of drawers today. I believe this inlay is made from camel bones, hopefully not from the toe. She is fairly happy with the purchase.

Technos, 17 Jewels, Incabloc.

I found this old watch in amongst my stuff in the shed. I think it belonged to my Pa Bates. It still works a treat and is keeping time within a minute per twelve hours.

Errands, Errands, Errands.

Today was a day for errands. I went to have a look at JMac's internet and in the process got this dirty old shower screen fixed. I picked up a dress from Norflands for Ash and then fed the Winster. Later in the day I recorded a couple of beer related songs and found myself singing the name Julie many, many times in weird ways. Productivity mania.
